Australian Macedonian Advisory Council Fact Sheet
The Australian Macedonian Advisory Council (AMAC) is a Hellenic-Australian non-profit political synergy, established for the welfare and advancement of the Greek-Australian community. It was formed in 2008 by Greek-Australian organisations, namely the Pan-Macedonian Association of Melbourne & Victoria and the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne & Victoria.
The primary goals of AMAC are summarised below:
1. To promote Macedonian culture and the culture of all Greek regions within Australia and abroad.
2. To promote the history of Macedonia and counter revisionism and falsifications concerning Macedonian history in Australia and abroad.
3. To promote tolerance and cohesion in the Balkans and amongst different cultural groups in Australia.
4. To advance the interests of, and enhance the welfare of Macedonians and all Greeks in Australia.
5. To consult with government and members of parliament regarding issues pertaining to Macedonia.
6. To provide advice and opinion to the wider Australian community on issues pertaining to Macedonia.
